Good Night, and Good Luck, starring George Clooney, will be livestreamed at 7:00 p.m. on June 7, 2025 on CNN. This marks the first time a play's performance has ever been shown live on the channel. The timing of the livestream is extremely relevant, given current events south of our border, particularly the erosion of the freedom of the press. Good Night, and Good Luck tells the story of Edward R. Murrow (Clooney), an American broadcast journalist, as he fought against the paranoia-fueled fear of communism that took hold of the American population during the 1950s Red Scare, largely contributing to the downfall of Joseph McCarthy, a U.S. senator responsible for what became known as McCarthyism. Clooney has been nominated for a Tony for his performance as Murrow. There will also be pre- and post- broadcast coverage, providing a deeper look the show's themes, as well as the current state of journalism in the United States.

If that wasn't enough, the professionally filmed version of Disney's Frozen the Musical will debut on June 20, 2025 on Disney+. Based on the 2013 blockbuster animated film, Frozen follows Anna, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf as they race to reverse an eternal winter cast upon the kingdom of Arendelle by Anna's sister, Elsa. The show features hit songs from the movie, including "Let It Go", "In Summer" and "Do You Want to Build a Snowman", as well as additional songs that were conceived and written for the Broadway musical, like "Monster" and "What Do You Know About Love?".

Drawing on the success of Hamilton, which is also available to stream on Disney+, live and pro-filmed shows provide access to Broadway to patrons who live in remote areas or who cannot afford to purchase tickets to see live theatre. For context, a single ticket to Good Night, and Good Luck averaged U.S. $300 (approximately CAD $420) throughout the show's run.

Tune in to CNN on June 7th for Good Night, and Good Luck and stream Frozen beginning June 20th on Disney+.
